Why The Fee?

The Twilight concerts have become an iconic event shaping the cultural landscape of Salt Lake City. Last year, each concert averaged 33,000 visitors and saw tremendous success in its second year at Pioneer Park. As the popularity of the Twilight Concert Series has grown, so has the cost associated with its production.

In order to sustain success and continue making improvements to this popular event, the Salt Lake City Arts Council will now be charging a nominal admission fee of $5 per concert.

THE NEW $5 ADMISSION FEE WILL:

• Enable the concert series to successfully continue.

• Expand the number of concerts (increased from seven in 2011 to nine in 2012).

• Allow the concert series to continue to present renowned artists of the highest caliber.

• Ease crowd congestion at the concerts.

• Improve the production quality of the concerts in security, sound and staging.

• Address soaring artist fees.

• Lessen the burden on public funds for the concerts.
